Welcome Back! Our conference committee has been working hard to bring you an opportunity for learning, networking and sharing with colleagues. We’ve introduced new processes and welcome your thoughts on what works and what needs improving. Thank you for supporting the North State’s premier administrator conference.
Saturday May 3, 2025 1:30pm - 2:30pm PDT
During the summer of 2024, the California Mathematics, Science, and Computer Science Professional Learning Partnership (CAL-MSCS) conducted a series of empathy interviews with eight county offices of education. These interviews focused on changes and strategies for supporting, recruiting, and retaining K-12 science teachers.

This session will highlight key themes emerging from the empathy interviews, particularly regarding teacher retention. It will also explore strategies to build capacity among teachers across the school setting. Additionally, we will discuss the importance of administrators developing systems to support early-career teachers and how they can leverage both anecdotal and formal experiences of teacher leaders to strengthen retention efforts.
